Detail

Part of Romania’s participation, as an indirect participant, in the IPCEI on Microelectronics and Communication Technologies (IPCEI ME/CT), funded through Investment I4 (Cross-border and Multinational Projects) / Component C9 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The umbrella project at Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara, run in partnership with NXP Semiconductors, covers several research themes; this one (Theme 4) targets automated instruction-set and embedded-software optimization for Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV).

The work identifies and automatically applies transformations at the machine-code and embedded- software level, aiming to improve performance, energy efficiency and memory footprint at once, and to consolidate a security context suited to the new centralized SDV architecture. Research runs along three directions: centralization and isolation, profiling and ARM-to-RISC-V porting, and hardware/software security, validated on the NXP S32N family and RISC-V FPGA prototypes.
